In an unusual head-to-head test outside Ducati HQ in Bologna, the new Panigale V2 was pitted against the older and more powerful 955 Panigale—not on track, but on real-world streets. Despite the 955’s 155 hp and torque advantage, the lighter, more refined V2 proved to be the far superior road bike. With its Ohlins suspension, improved ergonomics, cooler running engine, and smoother handling, the V2 delivered comfort, ease of use, and surprising civility without sacrificing performance. While the 955 still shines as a dedicated track machine, the Panigale V2 emerged as the clear choice for 95–99% of riders—for commuting, weekend blasts, and even occasional track days.
